KD One (www.kdone.co.kr, CEO: Roe YeonSang) launched ‘HYPER-VAC,’ and announced its plans to begin mass production and sales. HYPER-VAC is a high-efficiency vacuum insulation product that delivers eight times better performance compared to existing products.


KD One’s newest release, the HYPER-VAC, uses a Fumed Silica core wrapped with metalized film. Then, all the air is discharged from the inner structure to create a vacuum. Here, KD One incorporates Perlite, an eco-friendly mineral-based material, to create the structural framework. These improvements to the production process have helped KD One address the primary issue that plagued previous Fumed Silica vacuum insulation products that required a separate high-density compression molding process. Thanks to its efforts, KD One acquired the NEC Certification for HYPER-VAC from the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and the Korea Industrial Technology Association. The Ministry and Association acknowledged HYPER-VAC’s contribution to the industry in terms of making high-efficiency insulation products more affordable.


Also, HYPER-VAC delivers eight times superior insulation performance compared to polystyrene-based products which remain the most often used type in across the industry. The fact that it does not produce any gas even when a fire breaks out (HYPER-VAC uses semi-noncombustible materials) solves concerns regarding toxic gases that affect existing insulation products.


Outstanding economic efficiency is also an advantage. Because HYPER-VAC is so efficient when it comes to thermal insulation, clients can achieve the same insulation results with just 1/8 of other insulation products on the market. This means, clients can secure more interior space when building their projects. Naturally, HYPER-VAC has been a sensation in the market. Clients have already recognized HYPER-VAC’s superior insulation and fire-safety properties. Most notably, in March, Gimpo International Airport decided to use HYPER-VAC for its remodeling project (outer wall insulation for the domestic passenger terminal).
